Meet The Chef


Executive Chef


James Moore

Chef Jim has been delighting Sara Bay members with his culinary talents for 19 years. Born in West Bloomfield, Michigan, he moved to the Florida Keys as a teenager where he began his culinary journey, honed his craft and became an Executive Chef at the age of 26. He moved to France for a year to attend Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, where he received the Le Grand Diplôme® and worked in a Michelin starred restaurant. Upon his return to the States, he worked in many prestigious restaurants up and down the east coast, including The Ritz Carlton in Naples, Chanticleer Restaurant on Nantucket and Nachman’s private club in Charlotte. He and his wife, Karen, moved to Sarasota in 2000, when he brought his talents to Sara Bay. He is passionate about wine and enjoys studying and tasting the many different varietals. In his spare time, he is an avid cyclist and also enjoys running.
